Police have arrested Prince Andrew, born Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, on suspicion of misconduct in public office following renewed scrutiny connected to the so-called Epstein files.

According to Thames Valley Police, the 66-year-old royal was detained on Thursday at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The arrest comes after the latest tranche of documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein was released, intensifying public and political pressure over Andrew’s past associations.
In a significant development, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said “nobody is above the law” and called on anyone with relevant information to testify. Speaking earlier, he stressed that individuals connected to the case should cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities.
The arrest marks a dramatic escalation in a saga that has cast a long shadow over the monarchy and British public life. Andrew has previously denied wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial in the United States.
Investigations are ongoing, and further statements from police and legal representatives are expected. The development is likely to send shockwaves through Westminster and beyond as the story continues to unfold.
