Midlands Legal Expansion: FBC Manby Bowdler Acquires Jordans Solicitors in Strategic Growth Move

Award-winning Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler has strengthened its regional footprint with the acquisition of established Black Country practice Jordans Solicitors for an undisclosed sum.

The deal, announced on March 3, brings Jordans’ 30-strong team — based in Blackheath and Halesowen — into the expanding Adeptio Law Group network. FBC Manby Bowdler is the founding firm of Adeptio, which was launched following a £30 million private equity investment by Horizon Capital in 2024.

The acquisition marks another significant step in Adeptio’s ambition to build a national legal services platform through the integration of high-quality regional firms. Jordans Solicitors, founded in 1991, has built a respected reputation across the West Midlands, specialising in property, wills and probate, and family law.

Neil Lloyd, CEO of Adeptio and FBC Manby Bowdler, described the move as a strategic fit.

“Our aim is to build a national legal services platform through the acquisition of high-quality regional firms, and we’re delighted that Jordans Solicitors has joined us on that journey. Jordans has deep roots in the communities it serves and a team that genuinely cares about its clients. This acquisition strengthens our presence in the wider Birmingham and Black Country region.”

As part of the agreement, Michael Jordan, managing director of Jordans and son of the firm’s founder, becomes a Partner at FBC Manby Bowdler. He said the deal represents “the right move at the right time,” adding that shared values and a commitment to client care made the partnership compelling.

Jordans will retain its existing client-facing operations during the transition, ensuring continuity of service.

FBC Manby Bowdler, which reported revenues exceeding £18 million in the past year, continues to expand, with offices across the Midlands including Birmingham’s Colmore Row, Knowle, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Telford and Worcester.
